pilatus pilsner
crisp complexity
Pilatus, brewed with Germanic malts, hops, and yeast, is a traditional German style Pilsner. The malt body is soft but complex and offers a slightly nutty, toasty finish. Tettnanger hops balance the flavors in signature Bavarian fashion!
backstory
Pilatus Pilsner is named for Mount Pilatus in Lucerne, Switzerland. This mountain features Pilatusbahn – the steepest rack railway in the world with its maximum gradient of 48%. The uphill climb (15,151 feet) takes 30 minutes to reach the summit – elevation of 2,073 meters.
While on vacation (July 2, 2018), your favorite Brewery owner, Rod Stahl, decided to go for a run... Up. The. Mountain. Yeah, the one with the uphill climb of over 15,000 feet!

Pilatus Pilsner brings all of these stories together, both on the label and in the makeup of the beer.

2022 pilatus label
In 2022, we rebranded Pilatus (design by Joey Barnes). This version used a dragon more similar to the Mt. Pilatus icon, but with the original dragon head.

(There are more interesting references about Mount Pilatus, such as “Pileatus” means “wearing a hat”.
And it is also said that Mount Pilatus was named after Pontius Pilate.)
